December update 2025

Release

We are happy to announce that the Nordic Statistics Database has been updated, for the last time in 2025.

Some examples of what has been added:

In KEY02, quarterly economic key-figures, Q3 values for Economic growth rate are almost complete. In KEY03, monthly economic key-figures, October values are all in for Unemployment rate and  Inflation rate. Visualized data can be found in the dashboard on the Current economic state.

Under Environment and Energy, a lot of data has come in. There are for example new, 2024 values in EMIS14: Air emissions accounts, ENVAC02:  Environmental, economic and social key data and ENVAC03: Emission of greenhouse gases from production of goods and services

Under Bioeconomy/Forestry, new values are in for FORE07: Production of wood and under Economy/Foreign direct investment, FODI01: Foreign direct investment in percent of GDP has been updated. LABO01: Employed aged 15-64 (1000 persons) by activity, under Labour market/Employment, now has 2024 values as does REDE01: Expenditure on Research and Development by sector and REDE04: R&D staff by sector, under Science and Digital society/Science.

Under Integration and migration, all twelve matrices have now been updated with new data, unique to the Nordic Statistics Database. Please find the matrices here and visualised integration and migration data here.

Under Culture, a lot of the matrices have been updated, both with new years but also with new units. Per capita and per 1,000 inhabitants has been added, to facilitate comparisons between the Nordic countries. We have also updated the landing page for Culture, with a lot more ready-made graphs that can also be customised by using the built in filter function.  The same has been done for the area Social Integration and Income. This makes the data more accessible to all users and will hopefully simplify both use and analysis.

The next update of the database will be made by Nordregio, who will take over the operation of the database on January 1st 2026. If you have any questions, please contact nordicstatistics@nordregio.org

Nordic Statistics wishes you Happy Holidays!
